Make these little beauties a day in advance and they will taste even better! I’ve learned that some treats are better when they sit and the flavors have a chance to really develop, and O M G do you want to give these a day!
Ingredients:
1 c. butter
1 ¾ c. flour
1/4 c. unsweetened, dark chocolate cocoa powder
½ c. white sugar
¼ tsp. salt
1 ½ c. dark chocolate chips
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
½ c. toffee bits
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and line with parchment paper a 13×9 baking pan. In a large bowl with mixer or in your stand mixer, beat the butter until creamy. Mix in sugar, flour, cocoa powder, and salt until combined and crumbly.
Using your fingers or the bottom of your measuring cup, press 2 ½ cups of the flour mixture into the baking pan. Be sure to press evenly into pan and bake for 10 minutes.
In a small saucepan, warm the condensed milk and 1 cup of chocolate until smooth and the chocolate is melted, stirring continuously. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and immediately pour over the crust.
With the remaining flour mixture, add toffee bits and chocolate chips and lightly stir to combine. Crumble the mixture over the chocolate and bake for 25 minutes, until the center is just set.
Once the center is set, remove from oven and cool over rack. Do not wrap or put away until completely cooled down.
